Coffee Shop Barista

Sheepgate, a division of Adult and Teen Challenge of the Midlands, is one of the most successful faith-based recovery programs in the world. Our coffee shop purpose is to raise operating expenses for our recovery programs and a provide a much-anticipated service to our community. We’re seeking a positive, enthusiastic, individual to join our team as the coffee shop manager.

Baristas and cashiers help maintain a quality café experience for guests. They work closely with other baristas and cafe staff to make coffee drinks as instructed and serve food when ordered. The Barista’s job is to engage with customers in a personable and service-oriented manner. They must also be able to make transactions by cash or credit and make drinks in the order they were purchased.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve coffee and tea drinks that meet quality standards
• Properly handle and maintain all equipment
• Respond to orders, questions, concerns, and complaints in a polite and efficient manner
• Accurately handle cash and credit card payments, following appropriate cash-handling procedures
• Serve customers quickly and efficiently
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all the menu offerings
• Observe relevant health and safety standards
